The IS Series is a horizontal, single-stage, single-suction end-suction centrifugal water pump designed for clean water and liquids with similar physical and chemical properties. It is commonly used in industrial cooling and circulation systems, municipal water supply, agricultural irrigation, drainage and general water transfer.
Its back pull-out construction allows the rotating assembly to be removed without disconnecting the pump casing from the suction and discharge pipelines. Available model configurations support 1450 or 2900 rpm operation, multiple impeller diameters, and packing or mechanical seal options. Final pump selection should be based on the required flow, total head, liquid temperature, NPSH conditions, material and motor specification.
Key Benefits of IS Clear Water Pumps
Reduced Maintenance Downtime: Quick-access rear pull-out design streamlines inspection and component replacement.
Performance Flexibility: Broad operational range allows fine-tuning via speed and impeller adjustments.
Durable & Interoperable: ISO-aligned manufacturing guarantees part consistency and extended service life under clean water conditions.
Standards & Compatibility of IS Clear centrifugal circulation pump
Manufactured in full compliance with GB5662-85 (China National Standard) and engineered to meet ISO 2858 specifications, the IS pump ensures dimensional interchangeability and operational reliability for both domestic and international markets.
IS Type Pump Construction Description
Design Standard: Performance and dimensions are designed in accordance with the International Standard ISO 2858.
Main Components: Casing (1), Casing Cover (2), Impeller (3), Shaft (4), Wear Ring (5), Shaft Sleeve (8), Bearing Bracket (12), (See Fig 1)
Back Pull-Out Design: The pump is divided into the casing and the casing cover at the back face of the impeller. This structure facilitates easy maintenance.
Volute Casing: The pump volute is formed by the casing and the casing cover together.
Rotating Element: Consists of the impeller, shaft, and rolling bearings.
Support Method: The rotating element is supported by rolling bearings mounted in a hanging-style bearing bracket. These bearings carry both the radial and axial thrust.
For inspection and maintenance, only the intermediate connector between the pump and motor couplings needs to be dismantled.
The entire rotating assembly can be completely withdrawn without disturbing the main casing, suction and discharge pipelines, or the motor.
Primary Method: For most pump models, axial thrust is balanced by having wear rings on both the front and back of the impeller, along with balance holes drilled in the impeller's back shroud.
Special Case: For some pumps where the inherent axial thrust is minimal, no back wear ring or balance holes are provided on the impeller.
Core Features of IS Clear Water Pumps
Adaptable Performance Range
With 29 base models supporting up to 153 performance variants, the IS series enables flexible operation through:
Dual-speed motor options (1450 / 2900 rpm)
Customizable impeller diameters via systematic trimming (A, B, C variants)
Maintenance-Optimized Construction
Rear Pull-Out Design: Facilitates complete rotor assembly removal without disturbing the casing or connected piping—ideal for rapid service and part replacement.
Balanced Rotor System: Engineered with front and rear sealing rings and impeller balance holes to counteract axial thrust, enhancing operational stability.
Advanced Sealing & Protection
Multiple Sealing Choices: Options include soft packing, mechanical seals, or rubber oil seals to suit varying operational and environmental requirements.
Integrated Anti-Leak Design: A pressurized lantern ring system—activated for impellers with balance holes—ensures effective shaft sealing and prevents air ingress.
Shaft Integrity: A replaceable shaft sleeve, paired with a static O-ring seal, safeguards the shaft against wear and avoids leakage along dynamic interfaces.
